One Heartland is a national non-profit organization dedicated to greatly improving the lives of children, youth and their families facing HIV/AIDS and other life challenges worldwide.
Founded in 1993 as a summer camp for children affected by HIV/AIDS, One Heartland (formerly Camp Heartland) has expanded its reach and impact over the past 17 years. The organization provides a variety of year-round programs for U.S. children living with HIV/AIDS; reaches young people at risk for HIV infection with AIDS awareness initiatives; addresses the worldwide AIDS pandemic through its Global Heartland program; and serves additional marginalized populations. One Heartland provides children and young adults with opportunities to have fun, develop new skills, make friends, and speak openly about their life experiences at their facility in northern Minnesota, and programs in Southern California and New York City.
One Heartland has an impressive track record of service to youth at risk. Annually delivering year-round services to more than 700 U.S. children living with HIV/AIDS, the organization has thus far provided more than 7,000 camp experiences to this population. Since 1994, One Heartland has reached more than 65,000 young people at risk for HIV infection through its Journey of Hope AIDS Awareness Programs
