New York's PS 11 Sarah J Garnet Elementary School is a public school located in the heart of Chelsea in Manhattan. It serves a wonderfully diverse student population, whose parents and community are responsible for the PTA’s annual budget. Over 35% of our students qualify for free lunch. The PTA spends over $900 on each PS 11 student. They pay for fundamental elements of education including Science, Math and Literacy, Art, Music, Dance, Professional Development for Teachers, Computers, and other enrichment opportunities, such as the School Library, Farming, Gardening, Chess, Robotics, After-School Care and on and on!
