Once the head writer for the late night sensation, Saturday Night Live, McKay made his directing debut in 2004 with Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. In 2006, he and Will Ferrell launched their film and TV company Gary Sanchez Productions and a year later founded the Internet comedy site Funny or Die, known for it's hilarious and outrageous sketches. Since his premiere as a director in 2004, McKay and Ferrell have since worked on a number of comedy films, including Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, The Other Guys, Step Brothers, and Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. Adam McKay's creativity has spread beyond the silver screen and into television where he produces the comedy series Eastbound & Down. From TV he has expanded onto the stage, in 2009, McKay directed the Broadway comedy play, You're Welcome America: A Final Night with George W. Bush, a performance that was nominated for three Tony Awards.
Outside of stage and screen entertainment, Adam McKay is a frequent contributor to the Huffington Post and the founder of ProtestTunes.come, a clearinghouse for activist music.
