Meet with Craig Robinson who works to define and build a culture that embraces and values diversity in its workforce, culture, content and perspectives.
Craig Robinson is dedicated to defining and fostering a culture that values diversity across workforce, culture, content, and perspectives. Working alongside Comcast Chairman and CEO Brian Roberts, Robinson helped lead Comcast’s $100 million commitment to fighting injustice and inequality, driving initiatives across Comcast, NBCUniversal, and Sky to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). He spearheads social justice programs, partners with organizations on all levels, and oversees the company’s ten Employee Resource Groups with over 130 global chapters. Robinson also co-chairs the Comcast NBCUniversal DEI Advisory Council and serves as the primary liaison between NBCUniversal and key advocacy organizations.
Under Robinson’s leadership, Comcast has been repeatedly recognized for its DEI achievements, including placements on the Forbes Best Employers for Diversity list, the Fortune 50 Best Workplaces for Diversity, and the DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity.
Appointed to his role in August 2011, Robinson previously served as President and General Manager of KNBC-TV in Los Angeles, overseeing news, sales, and community relations. His career also includes leadership roles at WCMH-TV in Columbus, Ohio; WRC-TV in Washington, DC; and KCBS-TV in Los Angeles. After studying Political Science at UCLA, he began his career in advertising sales at KCBS-TV, where he discovered his passion for broadcasting and entertainment, joining NBC in 1996.
Raised in Echo Park, Los Angeles, Robinson’s commitment to public service and social justice stems from his upbringing. His Chinese-American mother dedicated her career to supporting low-income families, while his father, one of the first Black consultants for the Fair Employment Practices Commission, fought against discrimination in housing and employment. Discussions about race, equality, and civil rights at the family dinner table shaped Robinson’s lifelong dedication to advancing diversity and inclusion.
