Overtime Bidding

Why did the auction closing time extend by 10 minutes after I placed my bid? This is called "Popcorn" Bidding: Bids placed within 10 minutes prior to a lot's scheduled closing time will extend the closing time on that lot an additional 10 minutes. This gives all bidders an opportunity to place a competing bid. All lots will close when there have been no bids placed within the last remaining 10 minutes.

Max Bid

Your Max Bid is the most you are willing to pay for an auction item. Consider placing a Max Bid if you don’t have time to monitor an auction. Your Max Bid won't be displayed to other bidders, but will be displayed as the current bid based on the bidding increment. You won’t pay the Max Bid amount unless another bid bumps you up to the next increment.

Now you can keep track of the closing date, next minimum bid and number of bids from your Account page. We’ll email you a reminder to bid the morning items you are watching close. Closing Time

This is the time the auction will end, but "Popcorn Bidding" could add 10 minutes to the closing time. If a bid is placed within 10 minutes of the closing time, the auction will extend by 10 minutes. This allows competing bidders a chance to stay in the race.

These glasses, so memorably worn by Gary Oldman in his Oscar-nominated performance in Focus Features' Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, can be yours!

Mr. Oldman has earned his first-ever Academy Award nomination for Best Actor for his performance in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, in which he portrays the tenacious spy George Smiley. In conceiving the character's iconic look, Mr. Oldman conferred with director Tomas Alfredson and costume designer Jacqueline Durran over just the right pair of glasses for Smiley to wear. He found the perfect pair in Pasadena and brought them to England for filming there.

The glasses, purchased by Mr. Oldman for the role, are worn throughout the film. Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is nominated for 3 Academy Awards: Best Actor, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Original Score. The film recently won 2 BAFTA Awards including Best British Film and Best Adapted Screenplay.
