ONLINE AUCTION AUGUST 5 - AUGUST 26, 2010

Dedicated to enriching the lives of children with learning and adjustment challenges, The Summit School, located in Queens, provides the day-to-day tools students need to experience life fully. At Summit, children quickly become part of a warm, nurturing community where they are taught the necessary skills to optimize their capabilities in higher education, job placement, and interpersonal relationships. At Summit, each child is addressed as a whole and is given the proper attention needed to focus on their strengths and talents. Summit gives its students the advantage of a consistent, supportive environment where they can establish lifelong friendships with teachers and students from second grade through high school.

Summit is a private, not-for-profit school designated by the New York State Education Department to receive state funding to educate children with learning and adjustment challenges. Summit serves 276 children representing the full array of New York’s ethnic and economic diversity. Summit accepts students from all five boroughs of New York City as well as Westchester, Nassau, Suffolk, and Rockland Counties.

SUPPORT THEIR ONLINE AUCTION! Children are sensitive to their environment and physical surroundings. Currently at the Summit Lower School there is no outdoor space for the children to run and play. The Summit Restoration Committee is dedicated to changing that! Next door to the Lower School is a raw piece of land that your donation will help to transform into a multi-purpose yard for children and staff to enjoy. Proceeds of the auction will help support this work.
