Audra McDonald is unparalleled in the breadth and versatility of her artistry as both a singer and an actress. The winner of a record-breaking six Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards, and an Emmy Award, she was named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people of 2015 and received a 2015 National Medal of Arts from President Barack Obama. Raised in Fresno, California, the Julliard-trained soprano is equally at home on Broadway and opera stages as she is in roles on film and television. An ardent advocate for at-risk and underprivileged youth, Audra sits on the board of Covenant House which she joined in the fall of 2014. “The more I’ve learned about what Covenant House is doing for homeless youth all over the country and around the world, the more excited I’ve become to join this powerful movement on behalf of homeless kids."
Funds from the winning bid will help Covenant House, and organization that will care for over 46,000 homeless and trafficked youth this year.
