Join renowned conservationist Dr. Wallace J. Nichols on a unique sea turtle conservation experience for up to six people from April 27 to May 1, 2012 in Baja!
You will spend two nights camping at a sea turtle research station in beautiful and safe Magdalena Bay in Baja California Sur, Mexico. You'll help local researchers measure turtles, collect data, and return them to the bay. This trip also includes two nights in La Paz, all meals, private transportation, taxes, and orientation.
In La Paz, your group will stay in double rooms at the boutique hotel Posada de Las Flores. At the turtle research project, participants will be camping in either individual or shared tents with foam mattresses.
Dr. Nichols is one of the world's leading sea experts and was featured on the cover of the December issue of outside magazine. Dr. Nichols has been a leading ocean wildlife conservationist for 15 years, working on scientific research, education, and capacity building. He has co-founded several conservation groups including SEEtheWILD, Ocean Revolution, WiLDCOAST, and the Grupo Tortuguero, a coalition of fisherman, local residents, and conservationists spanning Mexico's Pacific coast. He is a research associate at the California Academy of Sciences, former president of the International Sea Turtle Society, and Eastern Pacific co-chair for the IUCN's Marine Turtle Specialists Group. Dr. Nichols is a member of numerous advisory boards including Oceana, Sea Turtle Restoration Project, and Save Our Shores.
The trip benefits the work of SEEtheWILD, the world's first non-profit wildlife conservation travel project.
