Earth Island Institute’s Save Japan Dolphins Campaign works to end the largest slaughter of dolphins and whales around the world, including the tragic annual dolphin drive hunts in Taiji, Japan. We need your help to continue our ambitious mission. Our work began more than thirty years ago and confronts many of the most pressing threats to the world's dolphins and whales. Our efforts include preventing the drowning of thousands of dolphins as a result of tuna fishing operations, rescue/rehab/and release of the orca whale Keiko from the film “Free Willy", challenging the lucrative trade in orcas and dolphins around the world for lives in captivity, working to stop the capture and slaughter of dolphins in Taiji, and pressing US and foreign captive parks to end the performances and display of dolphins and whales. We also continue to press for an end to all commercial whaling through the International Whaling Commission, and we persuaded the Indian government to issue a statement that cetaceans should be considered nonhuman persons, and are working to expand that principle worldwide.
You can help us help the dolphins and whales by bidding on these one-of-a-kind items and experiences offered around the globe. They will be featured in our Save Japan Dolphins Seven Seas Auction, which goes live on November 12, 2014. Thanks for your support!Learn more at: http://www.savejapandolphins.org/
