Cooperative for Education (CoEd) helps indigenous schoolchildren in rural Guatemala break the cycle of poverty through education. CoEd establishes self-sustaining textbook, computer center, reading, and scholarship programs to improve both traditional and technological literacy. These programs lay the cornerstone for greater economic development in the communities served. CoEd's latest goal—The Thousand Girls Initiative—aims to provide 1,000 girls with scholarships by the year 2020.
