The McKeesport Preservation Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to economic development through Historic Preservation in McKeesport and the Mon Valley.
For over a decade, we have worked within the community of McKeesport, PA to preserve historic buildings, foster an increased appreciation of the history of our city, and recover artifacts, artwork, and archives from project sites.
Currently, we are working with the Monongahela Valley Transportation Foundation to place a Transportation themed museum and learning center within the historic McKeesport Roundhouse. Our effort will begin with stabilizing the building, clearing the debris and fill leftover from the mill, and ultimately building the exhibits. We are also working to preserve the Elfman-Levine Mansion on Shaw Avenue, as well as the Penn-McKee Hotel.
