Earth Island Institute’s International Marine Mammal Project has been protecting whales and dolphins and the health of their ocean homes for more than 30 years. Current initiatives include our: Save Japan Dolphins campaign to stop the killing of dolphins in Japan as depicted in the Academy Award-winning documentary “The Cove”; whale and dolphin anti-captivity work to end keeping these large animals in small concrete tanks; Keiko legacy efforts; pioneering cetacean rights endeavors; work at the International Whaling Commission (IWC) meetings (writing and publishing the ECO newsletter, which coordinates NGO input on behalf of environmental and animal welfare organizations around the globe).

Additionally, this year we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of our Dolphin Safe Tuna Program, which has saved the lives of more than 80,000 dolphins annually since its inception. Your auction participation aids our international efforts to end the slaughter of whales and dolphins and to keep all cetaceans wild and free. Thanks for your support!
