She earned an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BA from Barnard College, Columbia University. Her first book, Bring Yourself: How to Harness the Power of Connection to Negotiate Fearlessly, was published in March 2020. Contrary to conventional wisdom about what makes a good negotiator - namely, being aggressive and unemotional – in both her teaching and her book, Bring Yourself, Taheripour offers a radically different perspective.
In her own life, and in her more than 15 years of experience teaching negotiation, she's found that the best negotiators are empathetic, curious, and present. She believes that the essence of bargaining isn't the transaction, but the conversation and human connection, and that it is when we bring our whole, authentic selves to the table, creative solutions can be found that benefit everyone. Through her teaching, Ms. Taheripour’s students and clients experience personal breakthroughs, emerging with perspectives that complement their personal negotiation styles and are empowered to become more confident negotiators.
