Enjoy 2 tickets to attend an exclusive NYC live wine auction Wednesday May 16th, 2018 at Zuma Restaurant (261 Madison Avenue)!

The event will begin in the afternoon with a curated pre-tasting menu before the auction officially starts (time to be confirmed). There will be a multiple course dinner with a variety of wine being poured throughout the evening from regions featured in the sale i.e. Champagne, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Piedmont and California.

Other attendees of the auction will include wine connoisseurs/collectors, high net worth individuals and celebrities as well as various wine directors/buyers from restaurants and bars all over the world. Each couple will receive four bottles of wine total that can be enjoyed with dinner or taken at the end of the event.

Zuma, the brainchild of award winning co-founder and creator, Rainer Becker, brings its internationally acclaimed style of modern Japanese cuisine to midtown, New York, serving dishes designed to share and inspired by the informal dining style of Izakaya. The three kitchens present authentic yet alluring options, with bold flavors and simple presentation, highlighting quality ingredients.

4 gifted bottles include:

  • 2010 Gambal Chambolle Musigny Les Charmes (Red Burgundy, France) Alan Meadows “Subtle but noticeable wood frames a well-layered nose of raspberry and cherry that is trimmed in attractive floral scents. There is a generosity to the supple and round middle weight flavors that possess a seductive mouth feel and fine finishing intensity where the wood resurfaces. While the wood adds nothing to the appeal it appears that there is enough underlying material to successfully absorb it in time.” Burghound, Issue 46
  • 2011 Lafon Meursault (White Burgundy, France) Alan Meadows “A cool and notably restrained nose offers up notes of hazelnut, citrus rind, pear and a soft touch of green apple. There is good energy and fine delineation to the delicious middle weight flavors that exude a lovely minerality on the still markedly tight, linear and agreeably dry finish. This will need some time to develop more depth but the underlying material is certainly present. Lovely and fashioned in an understated style.” Burghound, Issue 52
  • 2011 Clos des Papes Chateauneuf du Pape (Red Rhone, France) Wine Advocate JB “One of the stars of the vintage and coming from absurdly low yields of 18 hectoliters per hectare, the 2011 Chateauneuf du Pape is a full-bodied, seamless effort that exhibits copious kirsch, ground pepper, dried flowers and underbrush as well as incredibly fine tannin, great mid-palate concentration and ample length on the finish. Relatively forward by this estate’s standards, it will be approachable at an earlier age than normal. Nevertheless, it will have 20+ years of evolution and is an awesome effort in the vintage.” Issue 209
  • 2012 Giacosa Barolo Falletto (Red Piedmont, Italy) Wine Advocate ML “The 2012 Barolo Falletto is a bit timid to open and needs extra time in the glass (especially when tasted this young). This wine was bottled in March. The wine already shows impressive complexity and depth with drying mineral notes that frame a pretty core of cherry and blackberry fruit. Background notes of light spice and grilled herb complete this pretty picture. What stands out most here, however, is the tight textural fabric of this wine. It is poised for very good aging potential.” Issue 225

This package is the perfect wine experience for the ultimate connoisseur!

  • Experience occurs on May 16, 2018.
