With a vocal range over 4 octaves, Serj Tankian is considered one of the greatest vocalists in Metal history. Tankian is best known for fronting the popular band System Of A Down. But the songwriter, poet, painter, producer, and political activist has added orchestral composition to his long list of accomplishments.
Tankian will perform vocals on a suite of pieces from his Elect The Dead Symphony, performed by the CSUN Symphony, under the direction of John Roscigno at the Valley Performing Arts Center on the campus of California State University at Northridge. The program also includes the performance of his own Orca Symphony No.1. There will also be an on-site art exhibit of paintings by Serj Tankian titled "See Music / Hear Art", with each of the paintings featuring a unique musical score that is accessed via Apple and Android smartphones and tablets.

Description of piece: This is the last remaining Violent Violins HPM from a closed edition of 7. Violent Violins is one of the most lauded artworks from Serj Tankian's collection, and this is the last available one from a closed edition of Hand Painted Multiples. Serj has individualized this museum quality lithograph print with additional paint splatters and effects, including the words "Violent Violins Violating Voltaire's Volitions." Artist Serj Tankian resembles this artwork to a virgin solo violin stabbed and splattered 'Dexter'-style by it's own bow.
