You and a guest will enjoy a private lunch with writer Will Staples in Los Angeles. Will writes for movies, video games, and television and is one of the only writers to have worked in all three mediums. Many of his projects are military-themed, and he has worked on some of the biggest franchises in that genre. He has worked on Call of Duty games, the Mission Impossible film franchise, and the TV series Shooter

In 2011, Will wrote the script for the video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which was the largest entertainment release in history and broke the movie Avatar’s record as the fastest franchise to ever reach $1 billion in box office earnings (16 days). He subsequently worked on Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, in addition to working on the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six franchise. Will also wrote for the Need for Speed series, which is the largest racing game franchise in history.

On the movie side, Will’s most recent projects include the movie adaptations of Ghost Recon and Call of Duty. He previously worked on Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. Will has numerous other movies in development, including The Dark Web at Fox, which is an adaptation of Wired magazine’s article about the creator of Silk Road. He is also writing for a movie set in the world of global animal trafficking at Warner Bros. Will has worked for top A-list talent in Hollywood, including James Cameron, Tom Cruise, Ben Affleck, Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Bay, Jerry Bruckheimer, Chris Hemsworth, and Jeremy Renner.

In television, Will is currently partnered with Leonardo DiCaprio to adapt Tom Wolfe’s book The Right Stuff as a television series for National Geographic.

Will is a graduate of Princeton University. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
