Los Angeles, California native Lily Aldridge hails from a large family of celebrated creative professionals. Her father is the noted English illustrator Alan Aldridge, and her mother is former Playboy Bunny and Playmate Laura Lyons. Her siblings include Miles Aldridge, the fashion photographer, and Saffron and Ruby Aldridge, also models. Most notably, Lily Aldridge became a Victoria Secret’s Angel in 2009, and appeared on the 50th Anniversary cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2014, photographed by James Macari. Aldridge’s fashion magazine covers, meanwhile, include numerous international editions of Vogue, Elle, Glamour, Tatler, Net-a-Porte’s The Edit, GQ, L’Officiel, Lui and 10. Additionally, she has appeared on the covers of the newly revamped SELF and Maxim. The Angeleno beauty has appeared in countless editorial features for the international editions of Vogue, L Uomo Vogue, Teen Vogue, V, Vanity Fair, W, Harper’s Bazaar, Lucky, Glamour, Purple and Love Magazine, among others.
Within the first five years of her modeling career, Aldridge sat for many of fashion’s leading photographers, including Patrick Demarchelier, Bruce Weber and Terry Richardson. She has also had the great fortune of shooting with Ben Watts, Angelo Penneta, Russell James, Tom Munro, Regan Cameron, Boo George, Mert & Marcus and Cliff Watts. Having received her Angel wings from Victoria’s Secret, Aldridge has since appeared in numerous print and television advertising campaigns for the intimate apparel behemoth. Additional advertising campaigns include Carolina Herrera (photographed by Mario Testino), Michael Kors, Salvatore Ferragamo, Saks Fifth Avenue, J Brand, Tommy Hilfiger, Coach, Alberta Ferretti, Anthropologie, Levi’s, Banana Republic, and XOXO; Aldridge’s beauty partnerships include Clinique, Bobbi Brown, Smashbox Cosmetics and Herbal Essence.
Aldridge, ever the multi-tasker, has starred in more than a dozen advertising campaigns for Velvet, and recently launched a capsule clothing line under her own name in conjunction with the California-based contemporary fashion company. Off duty, Aldridge is a cultural omnivore, and divides her time between New York City and Nashville, Tennessee. She enjoys traveling internationally (Sydney, Australia is her favorite destination), and attending film festivals, museums and galleries, and rock concerts with her husband, Kings of Leon lead vocalist, Caleb Followill. The couple welcomed their first child in June 2012.
Aldridge is a generous philanthropist actively involved with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Baby Buggy, an organization dedicated to providing essential resources to families in need. Additionally, she partnered with Vogue and Demarchelier for the official Born Free Africa campaign, an initiative aimed at ending mother-to-child HIV transmission by 2015.
Proceeds from the sale of this art will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, one of the world's premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.
