Extremely rare! "La Danse, 30" x 14" Triptych (a set of three associated artistic, literary, or musical works intended to be appreciated together) lithograph by Henri Matisse of a limited edition printing from 1935. This work was printed in Paris in 1935, and published by Roger Fry in London under the supervision of M.G. Di San Lorenzo. This piece is framed was purchased at an auction in Switzerland. It is not signed by the painter but the Certificate of Authenticity validates the artist as Henri Matisse. These rare pieces by the Masters from this time period are very rare to come by especially in good condition like this one is.
Henri Matisse was born in December of 1869 in Le Cateau, France. He began painting during a convalescence from an operation, and in 1891 moved to Paris to study art. Matisse became an accomplished painter, sculptor and graphic designer, and one of the most influential artists of the 1900s.
