You and a guest will experience watching (and who knows might get on the air) a live broadcast of Fred Roggin and Rodney Peete's radio show, Roggin & Rodney.
Fred's son Jack joins the Redlands Bulldog's men's basketball team this fall as a transfer from Arizona State where he was on the Sun Devils team for two years and has three years eligibility with the Bulldogs. Jack was a first team All-CIF high-scoring guard at Calabasas High School where he led all of Ventura county in three point shots made and steals and was MVP of his league.
Fred Roggin is the award-winning weekday sports anchor for Los Angeles NBC4 for the past 39 years. In addition to anchoring NBC4’s weekday sports news, Roggin is the host of ‘Going Roggin,’ a 30- minute sports commentary program that airs Fridays at 3 p.m. and Sundays at 12 midnight. He is also the creator and host of ‘The Challenge,’ NBC4's live multi-platform half-hour post-game show, which immediately follows ’Sunday Night Football.’ Roggin also hosts his own radio show on Los Angeles AM 570. As the leading sports anchor in Southern California, he has earned more than 30 L.A. Emmy Awards, 22 Golden Mike Awards, three prestigious Associated Press Awards and numerous Press Club Awards for his sports segments, specials and series.
Roggin was also bestowed the Joseph M. Quinn Award for Lifetime Achievement from The Los Angeles Press Club in 2013, and inducted into the Southern California Sports Broadcaster’s Hall of Fame in 2014. Roggin is one of the few local sportscasters nationwide who also works for the NBC Network during the Olympic Games. He was a network host and reporter for the Games in London, Vancouver, Beijing, Athens, Turin, Sydney, and Salt Lake. He has covered every Olympics since 1984. Well-known for his use of humor and satire in his sports reporting, Roggin created segments such as the ‘Hall of Shame,’ which featured video clips of humorous and unforgettable sports moments, and ‘Roggin’s Heroes,’ which highlights remarkable or extraordinary plays occurring in the world of sports. ’Roggin’s Heroes’ was developed into a nationally syndicated, weekly show in 1990. The Roggin's Heroes segment continues to this day in his newscasts.
