Bid to win Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition II, a personal digital chat with surfing legend Kelly Slater, a signed watch case and an autographed copy of Kelly’s book, For the Love
In mid-May, Breitling launched the Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition II, produced in a series of 1000 pieces, to benefit charities supporting the frontline healthcare professionals fighting the Covid-19 pandemic in some of the most affected countries. One of these limited-edition pieces will now be auctioned in June by Charitybuzz, an organization known for its auctions of unique gifts and experiences in support of worthy causes. The winning bidder will not only claim a remarkable wristwatch but will also be given the unique opportunity to have a personal digital chat with Kelly Slater, who is a member of Breitling Surfers Squad and arguably the greatest surfer of all time. And there’s more: along with the watch and the personal digital chat, the successful bidder will receive a signed copy of Kelly’s coffee table book, For the Love, along with a signed watch case.
This Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Heritage Limited Edition II benefits a great cause: the humanitarian aid organization Direct Relief, which is active in its support of frontline healthcare professionals working to fight the Covid-19 pandemic. It has a 42-millimeter stainless steel case and bidirectional rotating bezel with an ultrahard blue ceramic bezel ring and a blue dial. Limited to 1000 pieces, its caseback is engraved with the words “ONE OF 1000*. Among the watch’s highlights are splashes of color marking the hours at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock on the dial. The hour markers and the hour and minute hands are coated with Super-LumiNova® in a rainbow graduation of yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, red, and orange. The colorful design elements serve as a beacon of hope and a positive reference to the rainbows that have become symbols of support for frontline healthcare workers around the world.
The Superocean Heritage ’57 Heritage Limited Edition II being auctioned is presented on a stainless-steel Ocean Classic bracelet and comes with an additional Outerknown ECONYL® NATO strap in light blue with dark blue stripes and lining. The strap is a stunning result of Breitling’s partnerships with Kelly Slater and Outerknown, a sustainable apparel brand he co-founded. ECONYL® yarn is an innovative material repurposed from nylon waste, including lost and discarded fishing nets recovered from oceans around the world.
The proceeds from the Charitybuzz auction will benefit Direct Relief, a US-based charity.
