This is a framed and signed (both on front and back) original oil painting featuring an unsuspecting woman on a beach who is being approached by a bear.
Doug Reina is a Pollock-Krasner grant recipient based in Setauket, New York. He is a full-time artist who creates work both on location, as well as in his studio of the landscapes and people that are part of his life. Reina is also a cartoonist, whose work has appeared in the New Yorker magazine as well as with King Features Syndicate. He has recently published a book called “Doug Reina, Under the Covers” which features his cartoons and sketches pulled from the past 25 years of sketchbooks. As a result of this background, humor is often an element in the subject of his paintings. Reina's artwork has been exhibited in galleries, museums and public and private collections primarily on Long Island, with some exposure in New York City, Connecticut and Florida as well.
