Artist bio:
With perfect vision in 2020, Carrie Fell published a 24-year retrospective book – encompassing 560 pages and more than 400 select images - highlighting her illustrious career to this point. This impressive work depicts the traditional icons of the Western landscape with a thoroughly modern twist using vibrant colors and fluid forms. Over the past 25 years, with the Colorado high country serving as a source of inspiration, Carrie’s art has never attempted to portray a specific lifestyle but rather an illusion. Carrie’s art initially drew on her experiences as a Colorado native and the western influences. Over time, as her hometown Denver has progressed, so, too, her subjects have evolved. Whether it be her quintessential material of the West, contemporary abstract extractions of DESIGNLine, or her most recent artistic expressions of Modern Social – Carrie’s work is always classically elegant, yet highly contemporary. Modern Social is a revival of the drawing inspired by great illustrative artists of the past.
