Nepal is an amazingly diverse country that offers something for everyone. Kathmandu is a living museum of Nepali civilization and culture. Its towering pagodas with fascinating architecture and artistic workmanship along with former King's palaces can easily win the heart of culture loving visitors. Your journey will take you from the religious temples of Kathmandu to the pristine Pokhara Valley that boasts stunning views of the snowcapped Himalayas. The scenery here tells its own tale with a blend of fresh air and dramatic mountain ranges.
Day 1 - Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be met by one of our representatives at the airport and transferred to your hotel, Traditional Homes Swotha in Patan. Preserving old tradition along with comfortable living, Swotha’s simple, elegant and exclusive surroundings portray a warm welcome to its guests.
Day 2 - After breakfast at the hotel, explore Patan, known as the city of arts and architecture. A visit to the new Patan Museum, housed in a beautifully restored former Malla palace and overlooking Durbar Square, their collection spans much of Nepal’s cultural history. You'll then head towards Kirtipur, an ancient city set on a hilltop. A tranquil town, Kirtipur is a center of Newari culture and well-known for its delicious Newari snacks. There are a number of churches, temples and monasteries to explore and an excellent view of the valley.
Day 3 - After breakfast at the hotel, you'll take a short flight to Pokhara whose bewitching beauty has entranced countless travel writers. Its pristine air, spectacular backdrop of snowy peaks, serene lakes and surrounding greenery make it ‘the jewel in the Himalaya’, a place of remarkable natural beauty. The afternoon will include an International Mountain Museum and a boat ride on Phewa Lake that will include a visit to Barahi Temple, situated in a small island in the lake surrounded by marvelous views.
Day 4 - Spend the day hiking to Kalikasthan & Begnas Lake in Pokhara. The trail ascends, through the colorful ethnic villages of the Gurung and Ghaley people, to Kalikasthan, an excellent vantage point for viewing the mountains at close range. You'll follow the ridge line through villages down to the pretty shores of Begnas Tal, transferring from here back to Pokhara.
Day 5 - After breakfast at the hotel, you will take the short flight back to Kathmandu where you can freshen up in the spacious, warm and welcoming rooms of 1905 Suites and spend a leisurely afternoon in the outdoor garden with a book and enjoy delicious cuisine at the hotel restaurant, away from the hustle and bustle. Or visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Swayambhunath, the most ancient and perhaps the most enigmatic of all holy shrines in Kathmandu.
Day 6 - After a leisurely breakfast and final site-seeing in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
