Boston Common one-of-a-kind Peter Max magazine cover: this cover is an homage to the history, natural beauty and creativity of Boston and features the most amazing July 4th celebration featuring the Hatch Shell on the Charles River Esplanade where the Boston Pops annually host a music and fireworks spectacular. The beautiful Charles River covers the background with wonderful wetlands, parks, sailing, rowing, biking and running on the river's bike path.

"Independence Day, July 4th, has always been a special day for me. As a child growing up in Shanghai, China, I daydreamed about America, the land of the free, the home of the brave, and the most creative country on the planet. I was honored at our country's July 4th, 1976 bicentennial celebration, when my book 'Peter Max Paints America' was presented to Presidents Ford and Carter at The White House by King Gustav of Sweden. The book was a gift commissioned by the Swedish energy agency honoring the 200th anniversary of our Declaration of Independence."

"My cover art for Boston Common features one of our nations's most amazing July 4th celebrations when the Boston Pops annually hosts a music and fireworks spectacular at the Hatch Shell on the Charles River Esplanade. So much creative thinking and ingenuity comes from this city and the universities lining Boston's beautiful Charles River. And the river is home to wonderful wetlands, parks, sailing, rowing, and biking and running on the river's bike path. It's an homage to the history, natural beauty and creativity of Boston."
