It was at the young age of two that she found her love and passion of dance by attending her older cousin’s annual dance recitals and not being able to help herself from dancing up and down the theater aisles. The dance studio owner and her mother informed her parent’s that when she turned three, they had to enroll her into dance classes…and that’s where it all started.
From there, Alicia began dancing at a competition school in Morgantown, where she studied all types of dance including tap, jazz, lyrical, acro, contemporary, modern, gymnastics, and of course, ballet. At age 11, she began taking lessons at another local studio in Morgantown and fell in love with the art of ballet. She received numerous scholarships to attend different summer programs including a summer course at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. That following year, she received a grand scholarship and moved away from home at the young age of 13 to attend UNCSA in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. After one year there, she received a scholarship to attend The School of American Ballet’s Summer Course, and then was invited to attend SAB’s Winter Term on scholarship. She studied at SAB for four years while attending Professional Performing Arts High School her sophomore year of high school through her senior year of high school.
Upon graduating from PPAS, she attended Fordham University while her last year at SAB.
