Spend an adventurous week exploring the jungles in Panama and sleeping in a comfortable rainforest cabins! Your one week trip will include 6 nights in Centro Mamoni and one overnight adventure.
The stay: Our rainforest campus, Centro Mamoní, is an off-grid facility where students, interns, researchers, and adventure-seekers help us achieve the goal of becoming 100% self sufficient. A site sustainably powered 24/7 by a unique hydro electric system with cabanas and hand-crafted furnishings built from locally salvaged hardwoods. Nestled amidst the forest are six distinctive, open-air raised cabanas sleeping up to 26 guests, equipped with plush beds, or private tents, showers, flush toilets, and electricity — conveniently connected to the outside world via high-speed WiFi. Enjoy fresh meals containing organic locally grown ingredients in our open-air dining area. Lounge peacefully in a hammock while hummingbirds fly overhead, swim laps in our 25m Olympic-length stream-fed natural pool, get creative in our amphitheatre, or get hands-on in our workshop or organic gardens. Your stay includes transportation to and from the airport, lodging, all meals, and access to all amenities mentioned above, including WiFi. Additional tours can be organized separately.
The trek: Up to 4 individuals will join you and your guest on this overnight adventure, led by one of our lifechanger team members. Experience superb nature interpretation at the narrowest point in the Americas as you plunge deep into the Mamoni Valley Preserve. We will start our journey with a stop in Junglewood falls a dramatic rock formations and cauldron of water. We will visit the Continental Divide, with views over the endless rainforest all the way to the Caribbean coast, then hike to the Madroñito river for a picnic lunch. We will explore more of the Madroñito river as we hike on it's west bank to our rainforest camp on a bluff overlooking the river and forest beyond. Also, we will hike through rare, pristine lowland, primary rainforest studded with towering grandfather trees before reaching La Zahina falls for lunch and a dip at the deep pool below. Lodging, food and ground transportation included for two people.
