Richard Foos (Chairman and founder) has been in the entertainment business for over thirty-five years starting with a small record store named Rhino Records and eventually growing it into an audio label with well over one hundred million dollars in annual revenue. He and his partner, Harold Bronson, sold Rhino to Time Warner in 1998. In 2003, Richard and his partners started Shout! Factory. Purveyors of pop culture, Shout! specializes in creating unique products comprised of classic, contemporary and cult TV series and feature films, animation, live music, comedy specials, documentaries, etc. Shout! Factory’s entertainment offerings are distinguished by its creativity, production value, and appeal that spans generations.
Bob Emmer (CEO and founder) brings over thirty years of entertainment industry licensing, acquisitions, and business affairs experience to SF. His business and legal skills are complemented by his creative abilities and industry relationships. His ability to identify and execute acquisitions, license and create new projects has proven to generate significant long-term value. Emmer previously served as EVP at Rhino Entertainment. Rhino’s revenue increased to over $100M, driven by acquired and licensed video and audio products and integrated projects. Emmer was also Executive Producer/Creator of the NBC late night music show Rock ‘n Roll Tonite.
Garson Foos (CEO and founder) brings over twenty years of innovative marketing, product development and management experience to Shout! Factory. Foos has oversight of the day-to-day operations of the company, including new product and business development, sales, marketing, production, acquisitions, and human resources. He is involved with many of SF’s key rights holders and distributors working closely with SF’s finance team to analyze deal opportunities and maintain budgets and cost controls. Previously, Foos joined Rhino and became SVP of Sales and Marketing. In addition to his involvement in the expansion of Rhino’s DVD business, he is credited with initiating Rhino’s co-branded retail distribution projects with MTV, VH1, Martha Stewart, Soul Train, The Grammys and more. He drove the advancement and refinement of the Rhino brand that is distinguished as perhaps the only cross-genre music brand in the industry.
