The Women's Venture Fund is a non-profit organization that helps women of diverse backgrounds establish thriving businesses in urban communities. WVF offers training, small business loans, and a network of business advisors to help women reach their business goals. It is the only organization in the New York area to do this. By troubleshooting specific challenges and encouraging women to share their experiences with other entrepreneurs, WVF is able to expedite the growth of businesses participating in their programs.

Unique among micro-lenders, the Women's Venture Fund, Inc. builds on the life experience of each client to develop her self-confidence, expand her understanding of business opportunities, and to provide the skills, training and resources to assume ownership of progressively more complex enterprises. Some of WVF's many accomplishments include:

  • A five-year grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration to provide training and technical assistance
  • Certification as a Community Development Institution by the U.S. Department of Treasury
  • Participation in a roundtable discussion with Vice President Al Gore on micro-finance and with President and Mrs. Clinton at the Women's Economic Leadership Conference
  • Vision 2000 State Model of Excellence presented by the Office of Advocacy, U.S. Small Business Administration

In addition to the online auction, please join us at the Annual "Defining Moments" gala on Monday October 4th at Capitale in New York City. The event will honor Ramona Singer, celebrity entrepreneur of the year from RMS Fashions and the Real Housewives of New York, Susan Berman of Underline Communications, and keynote speaker Samantha Ettus.
