The 58th consecutive Viennese Opera Ball (VOB), held under the auspices of the US-Austrian Chamber of Commerce, will be Fri., Febr. 1, 2013, at the Waldorf=Astoria New York. Long considered the most prestigious Viennese Opera Ball outside of Vienna, the Ball is a nonprofit association held annually to benefit other worthy nonprofit institutions.
This year's beneficiary is Carnegie Hall, which has a rich history of more than 120 years of concerts featuring Viennese artists and works by Viennese composers. Carnegie Hall is a nonprofit committed to bringing the transformative power of music to the widest possible audiences through education and community programs.
