Founded in 1967, The Saban Free Clinic, formerly The Los Angeles Free Clinic, is the oldest continuously operating free clinic in the U.S. The Clinic’s mission is to, in collaboration with strategic partners, serve as a medical home for the underserved and those who are most vulnerable by providing comprehensive, dependable and affordable quality health care in a caring environment.
In the 43 years since its inception, the Clinic has evolved from a single storefront clinic into a community based, five clinic health care network. The Clinic is a leader in offering integrated and comprehensive health care so that patients can receive different types of care—medical, dental, behavioral health and health education—in one “medical home.”
The Saban Free Clinic provides critically needed health care services to thousands of men, women and children in and around Los Angeles County. The number of patients visits provided by the Clinic’s dedicated staff and volunteers has grown over the years, currently the Clinic serves over 90,000 patient visits per year. With an increasing number of people in Los Angeles lacking health insurance and more losing coverage every day, the need for the services provided by The Saban Free Clinic is now greater than ever. In addition, the Clinic’s five sites are operating at close to capacity.
