Overtime Bidding

Why did the auction closing time extend by 10 minutes after I placed my bid? This is called "Popcorn" Bidding: Bids placed within 10 minutes prior to a lot's scheduled closing time will extend the closing time on that lot an additional 10 minutes. This gives all bidders an opportunity to place a competing bid. All lots will close when there have been no bids placed within the last remaining 10 minutes.

Max Bid

Your Max Bid is the most you are willing to pay for an auction item. Consider placing a Max Bid if you don’t have time to monitor an auction. Your Max Bid won't be displayed to other bidders, but will be displayed as the current bid based on the bidding increment. You won’t pay the Max Bid amount unless another bid bumps you up to the next increment.

You can monitor items you're interested in without placing a bid by selecting Watch This Item after you've logged into your account. Now you can keep track of the closing date, next minimum bid and number of bids from your Account page. We’ll email you a reminder to bid the morning items you are watching close. Closing Time

This is the time the auction will end, but "Popcorn Bidding" could add 10 minutes to the closing time. If a bid is placed within 10 minutes of the closing time, the auction will extend by 10 minutes. This allows competing bidders a chance to stay in the race.

Bid on a chance to join Leslie Charleson and Hollywood for Habitat for Humanity for a very special private build event on Saturday, December 12, 2009 in the Los Angeles area.

You and three guests will put your hardhats on, pick up your hammers and spend the day building a house with cast members from daytime's hottest soap opera. Together, you will put in your "sweat equity" alongside a Habitat for Humanity partner homeowner family as you build a safe and decent, energy efficient home for a deserving family in need. If you are unable to bid in the auction (or even if you are!), please visit www.habitatla.org/gh. You can make a donation towards "THE HOUSE THAT GENERAL HOSPITAL FANS BUILT," leave a message on the blog and send a message to the family that will be placed in their new sustainable home. Every dollar counts and no donation is too big or too small. Your donation of just $5 provides a box of nails to be used in the construction and we need LOTS of nails to build this house!

No building experience is necessary! Hollywood for Habitat for Humanity will provide safety training, hardhats, all necessary tools, trained crew leaders and everything else you may need! Get your friends together and bid often! 100% of the proceeds from this auction and all donations raised through www.habitatla.org/gh go directly to fund "THE HOUSE THAT GENERAL HOSPITAL FANS BUILT" in Los Angeles, CA. We need your help! Join us as we build a home for the holidays.

Several other GH cast members are also participating in this auction (click HERE to see who else is building!) and exact onsite participation times of each cast member has not yet been determined. While it is possible that many will be on site simultaneously, attendance of all cast members at all times is not guaranteed. Your bid is a binding contract, and if you bid and win more than one auction, your credit card will be charged for the full amount of each auction, whether or not the experiences will take place simultaneously.

Terms: This invitation only build will take place on Saturday, December 12, 2009. Building will begin promptly at 8 AM and will conclude at approximately 3 PM. In order to be on the Habitat for Humanity build site and participate in this exclusive event, you must be 18 years of age or older. Exact location will be disclosed to the auction winner the day prior to the build. No travel expenses or accommodations will be provided. If for any reason Leslie is not available on December 12, 2009, best efforts will be made to coordinate another mutually agreeable date for you to build with her, between December 12, 2009-December 12, 2010. If Leslie is not available during this time period, the deadline may be extended at her discretion. No other recourse will be provided for any reason. Respect for the cast members generously volunteering their time and the Hollywood for Habitat for Humanity staff, crew leaders, volunteers and partner families will be expected at all times. Inappropriate behavior by any member of the winning party could result in the immediate conclusion of the experience with no refund. Winner may bring personal camera but must follow Habitat for Humanity safety guidelines while on site. A photo opportunity with Leslie will be provided for the winner and their guests while on site. No video cameras please, still photography only. Winner will be contacted immediately following the auction.

Shipping and Handling The minimum shipping, handling and applicable insurance for this item is $0.00. Additional shipping charges may apply based upon the location of the winner. Hard copies of tickets, travel certificates and merchandise are shipped via FedEx or professional shipping service. Detailed redemption information for non-tangible items will be emailed to the winning bidder.
