Ron Brown fashioned his artistic vision into a reality by founding Evidence, A Dance Company 25 years ago. He has created a unique, enduring and vital movement language that viscerally communicates the evolution of culture throughout the African diaspora incorporating dance, music and storytelling. His dancers are specifically trained in his movement vocabulary, and his choreography has been sought after by international companies, such as Alvin Ailey and Jennifer Muller/The Works.
Evidence is in the midst of celebrating its 25th Anniversary. Highlights of the anniversary season have included the “Grace in Winter” Silver Ball at The Plaza, NYC in February, a magnificent commemorative book, a calendar featuring stunning dance photographs, a New York City season, a U.S. tour that includes appearances at the Vancouver Olympic festivities and a State Department-sponsored tour to Africa. The Company will continue the festivities at the “On Our Toes…In The Hamptons” Summer Benefit taking place on Saturday, August 21st.
