Overtime Bidding

Why did the auction closing time extend by 10 minutes after I placed my bid? This is called "Popcorn" Bidding: Bids placed within 10 minutes prior to a lot's scheduled closing time will extend the closing time on that lot an additional 10 minutes. This gives all bidders an opportunity to place a competing bid. All lots will close when there have been no bids placed within the last remaining 10 minutes.

Max Bid

Your Max Bid is the most you are willing to pay for an auction item. Consider placing a Max Bid if you don’t have time to monitor an auction. Your Max Bid won't be displayed to other bidders, but will be displayed as the current bid based on the bidding increment. You won’t pay the Max Bid amount unless another bid bumps you up to the next increment.

Watching Items

You can monitor items you're interested in without placing a bid by selecting Watch This Item after you've logged into your account. Now you can keep track of the closing date, next minimum bid and number of bids from your Account page. We’ll email you a reminder to bid the morning items you are watching close. You can remove an item from your watch list from your Account page or by clicking the Watch button again.

Closing Time

This is the time the auction will end, but "Popcorn Bidding" could add 10 minutes to the closing time. If a bid is placed within 10 minutes of the closing time, the auction will extend by 10 minutes. This allows competing bidders a chance to stay in the race.

This special lot brings you the best of Louisiana art and cuisine as you take home an original sculpture from one of Louisiana’s most renowned artists and attend Emeril Lagasse’s famous evening of food and wine, Carnivale du Vin, in New Orleans, LA on November 13, 2010.

From New Iberia, Louisiana, George Rodrigue is an artist best known for his Blue Dog paintings, which capitulated him to worldwide fame in the early 1990’s. Blue Dog transformed the image of the original Cajun werewolf dog, the Loup-Garou, into an international pop icon.

Treasure this one of a kind functional art piece, originally created for the Rodrigue’s home. The Blue Dog Table with Chairs, a Sculpture by George Rodrigue is constructed of aluminum, steel, and chrome and the artist’s hand-painted embellishment makes this sculpture unique. Museums across the country continue to acknowledge and showcase Rodrigue’s work which can also be found in his galleries in New Orleans, Carmel, and Lafayette.

To commemorate your new treasure, you and five friends will attend Emeril Lagasse Foundation’s Carnivale du Vin event in New Orleans, LA on November 13, 2010- where you will sit in a special VIP area at your new Blue Dog table. Carnivale du Vin is Emeril’s annual gala and wine auction which ranked number 3 in Wine Spectator Magazine’s Top Ten Charity Wine Auctions. This year’s black tie gala features a seated multi course wine parings dinner prepared by chefs Mario Batali, Kevin Rathbun, Norman Van Aken, Emeril Lagasse, and Gale Gand which will be paired with exquisite wines such as Grace Family Vineyards, Williams Selyem Winery, and Rubicon to name a few.
