Mythix.com is an exciting & effective wildlife conservation non profit organization which funds the world's top conservation scientists working to protect the most threatened animals and habitat around the world. Conservation solutions which involve ameliorating the condition of local people while protecting wildlife are integral to our efforts.

Mythix.com was founded by Peter A. Gottesman, an idealist and pragmatist who holds a history degree from Columbia University, an MBA from Babson College, and has studied wildlife management and ecology in locales such as Kenya and Costa Rica. Mr. Gottesman has traveled extensively and met with leading conservationists in India, China, Nepal, Russia, Japan, Israel, Turkey, Egypt, Seychelles, New Zealand, Hawaii, Madagascar, South Africa, Europe, and more.

The symbol of Mythix is "Falcroc" - a very rare ancient Egyptian sun god which has the head of a falcon and the body of a crocodile. The best known example of this fascinating composite animal diety from ancient Egypt is the green stone scultpture (see photo, above right) donated by Mythix.com founder Peter Gottesman to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The sculpture dates from 332-30 B.C., and has four worshipping baboons carved in its base, who are worshipping the falcon-headed crocodile god above (as baboons are known to howl excitedly at sun rise, and thus were associated by the ancient Egyptians with sun worship!). The stunning object can be viewed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and forms part of the Museum's renowned permanent collection of Egyptian art.
