Mythix.com was founded by Peter A. Gottesman, an idealist and pragmatist who holds a history degree from Columbia University, an MBA from Babson College, and has studied wildlife management and ecology in locales such as Kenya and Costa Rica. Mr. Gottesman has traveled extensively and met with leading conservationists in India, China, Nepal, Russia, Japan, Israel, Turkey, Egypt, Seychelles, New Zealand, Hawaii, Madagascar, South Africa, Europe, and more.

The symbol of Mythix is "Falcroc" - a very rare ancient Egyptian sun god which has the head of a falcon and the body of a crocodile. The best known example of this fascinating composite animal diety from ancient Egypt is the green stone scultpture (see photo, above right) donated by Mythix.com founder Peter Gottesman to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The sculpture dates from 332-30 B.C., and has four worshipping baboons carved in its base, who are worshipping the falcon-headed crocodile god above (as baboons are known to howl excitedly at sun rise, and thus were associated by the ancient Egyptians with sun worship!). The stunning object can be viewed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and forms part of the Museum's renowned permanent collection of Egyptian art.

      <short_description></short_description>

Honeymoon for 7 Nights in Your Own Villa at the Luxury Tugu Hotel & Exotic Spa in Bali

You and a guest will enjoy the opulence of the Puri Le Mayeur Villa at the Tugu Hotel & Exotic Spa in Bali for 7 nights.

Nestled between the pristine, wave-sung sunset beach of Canggu, the whispering rice fields, the quaint fishermen village, and the adjacent Batu Bolong Temple, one of Bali's most sacred, Hotel Tugu Bali is said to be an experience too surreally beautiful to be true. As is the case with the creation of the other Tugu properties, Hotel Tugu Bali was built upon a passion for the romantic beauty of the art, history and culture of the islands of Java and Bali. A vast collection of priceless Indonesian antiques and artworks adorned the many faces of the hotel, blending pure tropical luxury with an out-of-the-ordinary ambience.

The staff takes care of guests with the exceptional beauty, grace and thoroughness for which Asian hospitality is known. In the gourmet side, Tugu Bali presents the rare opportunity to savor superb ancient dining experiences, some of which have vanished from the island's nowadays life. Like the other Tugu hotels, Tugu Bali is one of the references in culinary art in the island, catering to the President of Indonesia even beyond Bali.
30 minutes from the airport, 15 minutes from Seminyak's new and hip nightlife and restaurant quarters, 10 minutes from the famously breathtaking Tanah Lot as well as a golf course that is known to be one of the best in South East Asia, stepping foot on Hotel Tugu Bali means leaving the modern days behind and entering a new dimension that is rather unearthly. It is a place where time stops, where only the most romantic tales happened once upon a time.

The renowned, Puri Le Mayeur Villa, floating above its own natural lotus pond, is dedicated to the passionate love story between a Belgian painter, Adrien-Jean Le Mayeur de Merpras, who made Bali his home in 1932 and the beautiful model of his paintings, the famous Legong dancer Ni Polok. The Puri Le Mayeur has a private plunge pool, a private outdoor lotus pond dining pavilion, a separate living room, an outdoor bath, and a verandah to witness the sun setting behind the breaking waves.

Please click <a href="http://www.tuguhotels.com/bali-PLM.htm "target="_blank">HERE for more details.

Terms:

Subject to availability. A real insider's tour of the one of the world's greatest Egyptian collections! Mr. Gottesman studied art history and history at Columbia University, has visited the ancient sites of Egypt on numerous occasions, and has worked with the foremost authorities on ancient Egyptian art around the world.

Then, after the tour, you will be led privately to the exclusive, antique-filled Patron's Lounge for tea, coffee, wine or an aperitif...and cookies. Frequented by Princess Diana, visiting dignitaries, and business tycoons...the Patron's Lounge has a wonderful view of Central Park, and is accessible only to persons who have donated significant works of art to the Museum! A wonderful opportunity.

An unforgettable experience for 1-5 persons!

      <short_description></short_description>

Enjoy a beautiful superior double room for 2 persons at AS JANELAS VERDES of
Lisbon, Portugal...for 2 beautiful nights in July or August 2008.
Breaksfasts for two persons are included.

The hotel is a small palace dating from the end of the 18th century, called
AS JANELAS VERDES ("Green Windows"). This wonderfully charming boutique
hotel is located in the historic center of Lisbon. With its small garden and
the top floor library, the mansion transmits a romantic and welcoming
feeling.

This 18th century palace is next to the National Ancient Art Museum. The
rooms are sunny and cheerful and the Tagus is close by. Next to the National
Art Museum is the beautiful Rua das Janelas Verdes.

The house, like the street of the same name, deserves to be discovered
slowly, little by little, all the time savouring its gentle, romantic,
welcoming atmosphere.

E'a de Queir's, the famous Portuguese novelist, is connected to the hotel by
tradition and there are those who say that he lived and found inspiration
here in this palace for another magical home - "O Ramalhete" in his novel
"Os Maias".

The memory of his presence is still very much alive in the atmosphere guests
find themselves immersed in: small objets d'art, books, paintings and
mementoes take us back to another era now being relived.

When summer arrives, the days begin with a wonderful breakfast served in the
garden while you breathe in the calm of an older Lisbon where it still feels
good to feel love.

The Heritage Lisbon Hotels were created with the idea of promoting charming
hotels that reflect Portugal's and Lisbon's tradition and culture. Managed
by a Portuguese family, the Heritage Lisboa Hotels are installed in old
manor houses and magnificent historic buildings in Lisbon's historic center.

AS JANELAS VERDES is a small, luxurious hotel that offers an intimate and
welcoming environment. A special balance has been struck between local
traditions and modern-day luxuries. The hotels' location in Lisbon's
historic center - close to the most genuine aspects of the city, ranging
from its monuments to the local residents.

A real insider's tour of the one of the world's greatest Egyptian collections!

      <short_description></short_description>

"Suthora Brunnea" By English nature artist John Gould. From The Birds of Asia, Hand-colored lithograph, London, 1850-1883. Framed size: 20" x 26"

John Gould was without question the most prolific and successful ornithological artist of the 19th century, and the only one to rival John James Audubon in ambition and quality. Gould's unparalleled career spanned five decades, and he produced a monumental series of books of birds throughout the world.

As one of Gould's greatest achievements, the Birds of Asia was in production longer than any of his other works, taking 34 years for the appearance of its 35 parts. The ornithologist was fascinated by the diversity of the exotic, colorful species of Asia, and he conveyed his enchantment to viewers, creating one of his most monumental and magnificent sets. The subjects of the plates are among the most varied of Gould's folios: trogons, kingfishers, sunbirds, woodpeckers, partridges, parrots, parakeets, pheasants, and many other genera are beautifully drawn, printed and colored. Gould placed many of the vibrant, showy and elegant birds in settings appropriately lush and detailed. The intended geographical range of the work was enormous and very much in keeping with the seemingly limitless ambition of the 19th century's most enterprising and prolific ornithologist. The many noted subscribers included Queen Victoria, the Emperor of Austria, the kings of Hanover, Belgium, and Portugal, museums, universities, and institutions in cities worldwide.

<short_description></short_description>

Valid anytime in 2008 or 2009, based on availability. (Christmas and New Years black out dates).

Honeymoon for 3 Nights in Your Own Villa at the Luxury Tugu Hotel & Exotic Spa in Bali

Can be used anytime. Some holidays may be full. Cannot be resold.
